Looking at the three spiritual papers in his hand, the middle aged man was stunned. A color of shock appeared on his face.

Originally, he saw that Ling Xian handed in his test not long as he sat down and thought that Ling Xian had given up. This was why this cold-faced man suggested that he should check over his answers carefully so he didn't lose the chance of passing the exam.

But now when he glanced over the three spiritual papers, he found all the answers on them to be completely right and not at all incorrect!

In other words, Ling Xian had spent few minutes to complete the three Dan recipes. How unbelievable was this?

You know, everyone here had sat here for a long time and no matter how hard they pondered, they couldn't figure out an answer. Yet Ling Xian merely used minutes to complete all three recipes. The difference between them was hard to imagine.

It was like Heaven and Earth!

Because of this, how could the cold-faced man not feel surprised? He knew how difficult it was to finish these three Dan recipes. The recipe for the Dan of a Cleared Heart was extremely difficult!
Even though it only needed that one last spiritual medicine, none of these recipes could be solved within minutes.

This was why the cold-faced man was in shock. Only after a long time did he regain his consciousness and began to stare at Ling Xian like he was a monster. He said, "Unbelievable, you really only used minutes to fill all three Dan recipes."

His voice and statement acted like the giant rock that was thrown into a calm lake to have thousands of layers of waves created.

All gazes were fixated on Ling Xian, there was shock, disbelief, jealousy, and admiration.

He finished all three?

How was this possible?!

Everyone was beyond shocked and their faces were full of disbelief. They have been sitting here for a long while and knew very well that the three Dan recipes were extremely difficult. The Dan of a Cleared Heart was especially difficult. They couldn't find anything wrong with it!

Therefore, they could not believe, no matter what, how someone would find the answers so fast.

If Ling Xian spent a day to think of the answer, then the people here wouldn't be as shocked as they were now. The important thing to note was that Ling Xian only took a few minutes. If that's the case, then his achievement would be shocking.

It was because of this, nobody believed him or accepted this reality. Because from certain angles, believing it would mentally hit them.

Think about it, an answer that they couldn't find after sitting there for so long was so easily solved by Ling Xian. What did this mean?

It meant he was powerful. It meant he was smarter than everyone here!

Therefore, of course nobody wanted to accept this cruel reality. Sadly, reality was before their eyes and nobody dared to question the examiner. In other words, nobody dared to challenge this reality.
Thus, everyone silenced. They all stared at Ling Xian voicelessly with complexity in their eyes.
Other than jealousy, they only felt respect, like they were looking at a God.

"Senior, you are flattering me. I am merely lucky." Ling Xian faintly smiled and once again responded with a series of humble words.

"That isn't luck," The middle aged man shook his head. Though he looked calm, he also had a hard time hiding his astonishment, "There are no luck with alchemy. With Dan recipes especially, there is only profound knowledge and deeply rooted foundation."

Pausing, he continued, "It is the same with completing a Dan recipe. Based on my original estimation, it would take at least 1-2 hours before someone thinks of an answer. I cannot believe you merely used a few minutes. I am in disbelief."

"So you are saying, I am the first one to get it right?" Ling Xian frowned slightly.

"No, before you, three people had guessed it correctly." The middle aged man shook his head. There was a hint of surprise in his tone, "however, even the fastest one amongst them took an hour."

Hearing this, Ling Xian faintly smiled, but he didn't look overly proud.

For one, he didn't think the result was that impressive. For two, though it might seem like a good achievement amongst the people here, compared to some of the other alchemists, he still had some distance to go.

The strongest descendants of the five clans, for example, were directly sent to the realm of alchemy. They didn't even need to participate in the initial test.

The different power forces of Yuezhou and the well-known genius alchemists also didn't require the initial or the second test.

However, Ling Xian's goal was never to match up to people amongst this group. His goal was also amongst the even more powerful group.

"Not impatient and not cocky how rare."

Seeing how calm and collected Ling Xian was, the cold-face young man revealed a rare smile and complimented, "A Heaven's Favorite with completion level of cultivation and is a genius with alchemy. You are a phoenix amongst the humans."

"You have flattered me."

Ling Xian smiled and changed the subject, "Senior, please hurry and leave a mark on the token. I still have other stuff to do."

Then, he handed the token over.

"Okay, then I will carve it." The middle aged man nodded and took over Ling Xian's token. He manipulated his Qi and left a purple imprint on the token.

The initial and the second test were ranked into three different ranks. From low to high, they are distinguished as red, blue, and purple.

In other words, Ling Xian's score remained the highest with purple.

This wasn't as simple as color itself. The deep meaning behind it was greatly honorable!

Seeing that the middle aged man gave Ling Xian the highest score, there was once again an uproar. This time however, nobody stepped out and questioned.

Because his actions deserved the highest level of honor!

"Thank you, Senior." Ling Xian beamed and paid the middle aged man respect.

"There is no need to thank me. This is glory that you deserve."

The middle aged man brandished his hand and looked at Ling Xian with high regards, "Alright, it's time to tell us your real name. I will carve your name onto this token. Then, this token will only belong to you. It presents your identity and also how honorable you are."

Ling Xian paused and decided that it would be better to enter the Shang Qing Sect using a fake name. Therefore, it would be better to use his real name here.

"Ling Xian."

"Great name. Sounds powerful."

The middle aged man complimented. Then, using a special technique, he wrote the name "Ling Xian" on the back of the token and exclaimed, "Before long, your name will be heard all over the streets and all over the City of Dan."

Hearing this, Ling Xian smiled but didn't comment.

He knew that the middle aged man was right. The gathering of alchemists was an event everyone watched. If anything big happened, it would immediately circulate across the City of Dan, let alone the astonishing actions he just took.

"Okay, I still have other things to attend to. I will say bye for now."

Smiling, Ling Xian put the token into his storage and headed out the tent. He only left behind a silhouette that was drifting further and further away.

The silhouette was not tall nor big, nor was it that extraordinary. However, it garnered everyone's respect and jealousy.

The name Ling Xian was engrained onto everyone's heart and transformed into a symbol that they would never be able to get rid of in their entire lives.

They would never forget, how a dazzling and blinding black horse was born during this year's gathering of alchemists!
